Riverside County guide
Visitors and events: injury guide
Visitors hurt in Riverside County are protected by the same California rules as residents. Licensed limousines and rideshare cars must carry set insurance, boaters must follow state and lake rules, hotels owe guests ordinary care, and most injury lawsuits must be filed within two years, or a public-agency claim within six months.
Riverside County draws visitors for wine tasting in Temecula, festival weekends in Indio, the lakes and the desert resorts. When someone is hurt on a trip, the same California rules apply as for residents, but a few questions come up again and again: who insures a limousine or a rideshare car, what a boater must report, what a hotel owes its guests, and what to do before you go home. Each page below answers one of those questions with official sources.

Wherever you were hurt
Get medical care first, then get the report number from the agency that responded (see our crash report guide), photograph the scene, and write down names and contacts before you leave the area. Most lawsuits must be filed within two years (CCP § 335.1), but claims against public agencies are generally due within six months (Gov. Code § 911.2).
